Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website in search engines via the search results. In general, the earlier (or higher on the page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users.
Getting indexed
The leading search engine Google uses crawlers to find pages for their algorithmic search results. Pages that are linked from other search engine indexed pages do not need to be submitted because they are automatically found. Google offers Google Webmaster Tools, for which an XML Sitemap feed can be created and submitted free of charge to ensure that all pages are found, especially pages that aren’t discoverable by automatically following links.
Make other websites talk about you
While growing your business through search engine optimisation, it’s important to have other websites to mention and refer to your website. Make interesting tools, guides, content and contests and they will come naturally.
