Delivery of the Digital Future.

BT has worked with Opportunity Wales since its inception in 2002 helping Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME’s) climb onto the eCommerce ladder.  We are committed to improving and developing businesses across Wales.

Director for Wales Ann Beynon explains BT’s 21st Century Network will help to make Wales one of the most advanced telecommunications countries in the world, transforming the business and supporting the next generation of flexible, cost-efficient services.

BT has chosen South Wales for the roll-out of its 21CN initiative which is set to have a significant impact on the nation.  BT’s multi-billion pound investment in a next generation network, £460 million of which will be new investment in Wales, will put the UK at the cutting edge of innovation and provide industry with real competitive advantage.

In Wales his means the migration of over 1.2 million customer lines to provide increased customer choice and control of a new generation of converged communication services.  BT’s investment in 21CN in Wales will underpin the delivery of the Welsh Assembly Government’s strategic objectives, stimulating growth and innovation in technology, knowledge based industries and international trade.

21CN is for all our customers — whether they’re part of a large organisation, a smaller business or a consumer with a BT phone.

BT has also worked closely with major partners  such as the Welsh Assembly Government and major private and voluntary sector organisations to support the creation of ground breaking projects such as Communities@One, which is driving information and communications technology (ICT) into Wales most deprived communities and Opportunity Wales, a European exemplar project helping small businesses grasp the benefits of ICT.
